Friends now a days smartphones are more innovative having best feature which are more useful in daily life. But some features are completely useless in smartphones world & companies implement this useless features in smartphones is just because of making smartphones marketing.

Hand Gesture

Hand gesture was implemented by LG , Samsung & now recently we seen it in google pixel 4 Smartphones. But every time the problem with hand gesture is that it’s not so accurate. It not work well Also some problems occurs in working system. So that it is better to use the smartphone with hand that is very efficient & easy.as compare to hand gestures.

Because of this reasons hand gesture is one of the useless feature, Even google made an advance version of hand gesture in google pixel 4 but it was failed . So that google pixel 4 never launch in India because google use radar chip so that for security reasons pixel 4 never launch in India.

That’s why Hand gesture is completely impractical in smartphones, instated of company have to give better screen , high refresh rate , smooth UI is much better than hand gesture.

Dolby Atoms

Dolby Atoms is one of the marketing technic to selling more units of smartphone. Stereo speakers are more comfortable & better than dolby atoms.

Actually dolby atoms was designed for cinema halls & theaters so that at the time of show we listen the music or sound for all the side. & this is almost impossible to create in mobile phones even not in earphones.

Another thing is that the content of dolby atoms available online is very limited.

So that the doly atmos is only designed for cinema halls not for mobile phones

So that this was very misleading term & only used for marketing.

8K video recording

We see form Samsung Galaxy S20 8k video recording, the 8K video recording with 24fps & also seen 8k video recording in 15fps in nobia phones last year. Which is completely useless. Let’s talk about Samsung galaxy S20 8K video recording, the video is much crop & we can’t adjust zoom feature in S20. It has no stabilization, & also issues occur at time of auto focusing, colors are not better.

Comparing 4K & 8K

4K looks much better than 8K. because in 4k videos are down sample so that quality of 4k looks very good. & in 8K video recording we see extra sharpness

But for that extra sharpness memory of smartphones get filled quickly.

For EX. For 1minute video recording in 8K the minimum storage will reduce upto 600MB. Aslo now days we can shear 8K video only with youtube other platforms doesn’t support 8K video content & 8K device are less available.

So that it much better to record video in 4K or 4K 60fps than 8K, because 8K is completely overkill today.

So that 8k video recording is completely useless feature.

4K displays

As we seen 4K displays in sony smartphones. Manufacturing cost of 4K display is high so that cost of smartphones also increased. For the 4k displays power consumption is more, use of processor is more & at finally phone get heated.

So companies thinks that 4K displays is completely useless, so that majority companies gives amoled displays high & refresh rates because it is very easy to know difference so that 4K displays not available in smartphones now a days.

That is it was completely useless feature.

HDR Video Recording

Actually HDR video recording is same as HDR photography recording video with more exposure.

Some smartphones having HDR video recording feature but in actual some phones default recording in HDR that is HDR video recording feature is only use to make marketing of the phones.

Some smartphones recording HDR video & watch with HDR supporting displays then the quality of the content is very good but if this content is watch in normal displays the video quality is very poor. So that now a days HDR displays are completely useless. In future if more calibrated HDR displays available in market then this things get more popular & useful but today this feature is completely useless.
